Yes, the Smucker family remains actively involved in the leadership of the Company. Mark Smucker is the great-great grandson of founder Jerome Monroe Smucker, and currently serves as the Chair of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. 

Richard Smucker, Mark's uncle, currently serves our Board of Directors as Chairman Emeritus in a non-voting honorary position. 

Does Smucker offer tours of its manufacturing plants?

No, we do not offer tours of our manufacturing facilities. However, we do have a showcase retail store near our headquarters in Orrville, Ohio, called The J.M. Smucker Co. Store, which highlights the Company history and philosophy, as well as nearly all the products the Company makes. Can you send me coupons?

While we do not have any coupons for distribution or free product samples to offer, we do periodically offer coupons in Sunday newspaper inserts, magazines and on grocery store bulletin boards. Additionally, many stores will offer in-store promotions, which may include free samples and/or coupons for our products, so keep an eye out!

How does the Company's time phased voting work?

All Smucker common shares owned as of November 6, 2008, are entitled to ten votes per share on specific matters detailed in the Company's Amended Articles of Incorporation. For shares purchased on or after November 6, 2008, or for which a change in beneficial ownership has taken place after November 6, 2008, each share is entitled to one vote per share until four years have passed. After four years, if there has been no change in beneficial ownership during that time, each share is entitled to ten votes per share on specific matters detailed in the Company's Amended Articles of Incorporation. When did the Company complete the merger of The Folger Coffee Business?

On November 6, 2008, the Company completed a merger transaction with The Folgers Coffee Company ("Folgers"), a subsidiary of The Procter & Gamble Company ("P&G").

I participated in the exchange of Procter & Gamble Company common shares of The Folger Coffee Company. When did the transaction close?

The exchange period expired at midnight on November 5, 2008, and the transaction closed on November 6, 2008.

How many Smucker common shares did I receive for each P&G common share which was accepted in the tender?

You should receive 1.6342 Smucker common shares for each P&G common share that was accepted in the tender offer. Any fractional shares will be paid out in cash.

Why didn't all the shares I tendered get exchanged?

P&G established the proration factor for the shares tendered. Odd-lot shareholders were not subject to the proration.

Where can I find cost basis information relating to the acquisition of International Multifoods Corporation?

In the merger, each share of Multifoods common stock was converted into the right to receive $5 in cash, without interest, and 0.4103 shares of Smucker common shares, which is $20 in value based on the average closing price of Smucker common shares for the 20 consecutive trading days ending June 17, 2004.

We own and operate manufacturing facilities across North America, responsible for producing our trusted brands.

Where can I find nutritional information for Smucker products?

We strive to provide consumers with as much information as possible about our products and their ingredients. Transparency in labeling allows our consumers to make the most informed purchasing decisions based on what is best for their families.

All products for human consumption that are required by federal law to have Nutrition Facts on the label currently have them clearly displayed on the packaging and often on the product's website. 

All products for pet consumption have the product's Guaranteed Analysis on the packaging. Additionally, pet parents will find our recommended feeding instructions.

Where can I find allergen information for Smucker products?

All products sold in the U.S. for human consumption will list any applicable allergen from the FDA's eight most common allergens on the label in bold. All products sold in Canada for human consumption will list any applicable allergen from the CFIA's 11 most common allergens on the label in bold. Additionally, potential allergens will be listed in a "May Contain" statement on the label. Consumers with allergen questions not addressed on the product label are encouraged to contact us directly.

How do I know if a Smucker product is gluten-free, vegan- or vegetarian-friendly?

Every ingredient in our products is listed on the product's label and its website. Consumers looking to confirm whether a product meets their special dietary restriction or preference (such as gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian needs) should first review the product's label, and then contact us for further questions.

What is your position on bioengineered/genetically modified ingredients?

We understand the importance of knowing what's in your foods–including GMOs–so consumer communication has always been, and continues to be, of great importance to our Company. We provide information in a variety of ways including direct communications with consumers via our Consumer Relations team, detailed product information on our websites, interactions with consumers through social media, and by providing consistent information on our product labels.

Please note, we are in compliance with the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard. For products that meet the Standard’s definition, we indicate they are made with bioengineered ingredients on the product label. At Smucker, less than 1% of our total revenue comes from products containing bioengineered food ingredients as defined by the Standard.
