Internship FAQs
Are internships with The J.M. Smucker Co. paid?
Yes, our interns are compensated for their work during their internship. Our rates are competitive with market rates. Additionally, we offer a housing stipend to those interns who are relocating for their internship.
Does The J.M. Smucker Co. visit campus career fairs?
We attend Fall Career Fairs at our partner universities, which include: The Ohio State University, The University of Akron, The University of Cincinnati and several more. Additionally, we attend universities near each of our operations plants around the country. Please check with your university to see if we will be making a trip to campus this fall or spring.

How many interns does Smucker have annually?
We have approximately 150 interns each year.
What if I don’t attend any of those schools?
We consider applicants from all schools! Please ensure you apply to the open position you are interested in!
When do intern positions appear online?
We post our intern roles by season, as follows:
- Summer: Posted mid-August
- Spring: Posted mid-January
- Fall: Posted mid-November
When do internships occur?
We host interns year-round, however, the bulk of our program occurs during the summer term (May-August).
- September-October: Recruiting begins for the following Summer program; our team attends career fairs at various universities
- January-April: Spring intern program
- May-August: Summer intern program
- September-December: Fall intern program

The majority of our internships are located at our corporate headquarters in Orrville, Ohio, but we also have opportunities at our operations plants across the country, including:
